Installation quotation and trade coordination service

Your quotation and how to book installation

A quotation for the installation of your project is being processed and reviewed by our installation team. Once complete, it will be emailed to you directly from our office.

Once you have received your quotation, we advise that you read through the included and excluded work thoroughly. If after you have reviewed your quotation, you wish to proceed with LWDA for the installation of your project, please contact our office to discuss possible installation dates.

On average, LWDA’s installation lead time is 12+ weeks at any given time.

LWDA’s quote will not include electrical, plumbing, tiling and/or plastering. To receive a quote for this work required, you will need to contact tradespeople directly to receive a quote. Contact details of LWDA’s preferred tradespeople will be provided to you along with your quotation. At a minimum, nearly every project will require a plumber and an electrician to visit your property in order to safely disconnect, then reconnect your services (even if appliances, sinks and taps are remaining in the same location).

Trade Coordination Service:

When confirming an installation with LWDA, we will need to you confirm who you are using as your plumber and electrician for your renovation project. This is crucial information for us, particularly if we are removing and disposing of your existing cabinetry.

If you are using LWDA’s preferred plumber and electrician, we can assist by coordinating with them directly as to when they will need to visit your property to complete work. This saves you the hassle of needing to wrangle multiple trades at once and confirming they will all arrive at the appropriate times.

The added benefit of using our preferred tradespeople, is they understand LWDA’s work method, meaning the work they complete will be correct, minimising the risk of potential delays to your renovation project. Please note that LWDA’s trade coordination service only applies for our preferred plumber and electrician and does not apply for our preferred tiler or plasterer.

What to Expect on the Day of Your Installation:

1). Arrival to your Property and Confirmation of the Plans:

Our installers will arrive on-site at your property between 7.00 – 7.30am on the day of your scheduled installation. If you are not living at the property, we ask that you be there to let our installers in at this time.

Before our installers begin any work, they will first discuss the specifics of your installation project with you in person. We ask that you have a printed hard copy of your kitchen plans available during this process, as our installers may need these.

Whilst you do not have to be present during installation, we would appreciate that you are there for the first 45 minutes, and contactable throughout the day in case follow-up questions are required.

2). Removal and Disposal:

Before any existing cabinets are removed, all existing electrical and plumbing services will need to be disconnected by a qualified tradesperson. This allows our installers to safely remove your existing cabinets and any appliances required without risk to health and safety. If engaging LWDA’s preferred tradespeople, they will often arrive at the same time as our installers to complete this work. If you are using other tradespeople, we require this work to be completed the day before your scheduled installation, at a minimum.

Once all plumbing and electrical services are made safe, our installers will begin the process of removing the existing cabinets, benchtops, splashback and any existing appliances (excluding fridges) you no longer want.

IMPORTANT: Any items that are to be reused or put aside (e.g: existing oven, cooktop, dishwasher, sink, tap, etc) needs to be communicated with LWDA either prior to your installation in writing, or discussed in person with our installation team the morning we commence work. We need to know this prior to beginning the removal process, as items can be accidentally damaged or broken beyond repair during the removal process.

If you have chosen to take care of the disposal of your existing kitchen yourself, our installation team will confirm where you would like the hard waste to be placed on your property.

If you have nominated LWDA to take care of the disposal of your existing kitchen, our installation team will place all items for disposal in our waste removal ute, and take it away at the end of the day (or the day following your installation).

3). Assembly and Installation:

With the old cabinets removed, the assembly process can now begin.

Whilst our installers begin opening and assembling the cabinets and drawers that comprise your new kitchen, laundry or butler’s pantry, tradespeople will begin the process of roughing-in any new electrical or plumbing services required. Once this rough-in work has been completed, these tradespeople will leave your property.

With rough-in completed, the new kitchen cabinets will be ready for installation per the provided plans.

If choosing to install pre-cut laminate, timber veneer or solid timber benchtops, these will be cut, joined and installed by LWDA. The sink and cooktop will need to be available so the appropriate size cut-outs can be made. The sink, cooktop and other appliances will need to be reconnected 24 hours after benchtop installation to allow silicone to dry.

If choosing to install custom-made laminate or stone benchtops, LWDA will aim to complete the bulk of the kitchen installation in order to allow you to have your mandatory check measure service completed by the stone mason or other bench top supplier as soon as the day following your installation.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are having a custom-made laminate or stone benchtop installed, you WILL NOT have a functioning sink, tap, dishwasher and/or cooktop for the period of time it takes from the check measure, to when the benchtops are installed by either your nominated benchtop supplier or LWDA. This is an often overlooked element of a renovation project, so please keep this in mind with your planning.

Depending on the size of the kitchen and what was able to be completed on the first day, there may be a need for our team to return and finish off minor elements. This may include the installation of handles, bulkheads above wall cabinets and filler panels, etc. Our installers will communicate with you at the end of the day what work is outstanding and when they will return to complete this work.

4). Finishing Touches:

Once the benchtops have been installed, the supporting tradespeople (plumber and electrician) will return on a day you have organised with them directly, in order to reconnect the sink and appliances (this is referred to as ‘fit off’). If you have had stone benchtops installed, these trades will need to come no sooner than 24 hours after stone installation, as the benchtop glue needs time to set and cure properly. After the benchtop of your choosing has been installed, work on installing your splashback by your preferred provider can begin.

With the cabinets and benchtops now installed, any finishing touches such as patching, painting or flooring can now be completed. (Depending on the scope of work involved, these finishing touches can be completed during the period you are waiting for your custom-made benchtops to be fabricated installed).
